Anouska is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered and accredited with the British Psychological Society (BPS). She is a member of the BPS's Division of Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC), UK. She is also an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Anouska has extensive experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across the full range of care settings including inpatient, outpatient, community and primary care within both the NHS and the private sector. She has worked as a highly specialist psychologist and psychotherapist at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust and The Priory Hospital, Hayes Grove over several years. She has gained extensive clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and groups. She is proficient in the treatment of depression, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders (including bulimia nervosa), attachment & personality disorder, body image disorders, physical health issues and work-related stress.
She is highly skilled at providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), along with Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Mindfulness and Psychodynamic Therapy. She will adopt the appropriate model to the needs of her clients in a brief or longer term capacity.
She has lectured at Surrey University on a range of mental health topics including GAD, Worry & Diversity. She continues to provide clinical supervision and training to psychologists and other health professionals within her current NHS post at South West London and St Georges Psychological Therapies & Well being Service (PTWbS).
Among her areas of specialist interest and research is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In 2008, she successfully designed and, implemented a pilot OCD group treatment intervention in Sutton & Merton IAPT Service, which significantly improved patients' recovery rates.
Her other area of specialist interest and expertise is around the birthing process. As a fully trained HypnoBirthing Practitioner, she is able to provide expecting parents with a complete antenatal programme, focusing on a combination of education, hypnotherapy, self-hypnosis & deep relaxation which has proven successful in helping people to achieve a more comfortable birth.
