Genevieve is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered and accredited with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health Professions Council (HPC). She undertook her doctoral clinical training at Canterbury Christchurch University and has completed a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College University London.
Genevieve has over eight years of clinical experience in the National Health Service, voluntary and private sectors across a range of settings including outpatient, inpatient, primary care, community, schools and specialist mental health clinics. She has worked with adults, adults with learning disabilities, children, adolescents, families and couples with a variety of presenting difficulties including; depression, anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, posttraumatic stress, phobias, loss and bereavement, anger management, substance dependence, low self-esteem, health anxiety, physical health problems and relationship difficulties amongst others. She also works with people who simply wish to use therapy as a tool for personal growth and increased self-awareness.
Her most recent post has been as Chartered Clinical Psychologist within the Lambeth Primary Care and Psychological Therapies Service, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. During this post Genevieve worked at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma, a cutting edge leading clinic for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches. She also gained specialist experience in a charity with vulnerable women who had experienced domestic abuse and trauma.
Genevieve is a highly experienced, passionate, skilled, sensitive and intuitive therapist. She places a high level of importance on the therapeutic relationship and provides a space which allows clients to explore their difficulties in a safe, supportive, confidential and trusting environment. Genevieve is an integrative clinician and tailors her therapeutic approach to the needs of her clients. She has drawn influence from a number of schools, including cognitive-behavioural techniques, person-centred counselling, systemic and family therapy, mindfulness approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), existential perspectives, positive psychology ideas and psychodynamic interpretations.
Genevieve has conducted and published research in peer reviewed journals in the area of arts and health. She is currently working on a two year Medical Research Council funded project with the University of Keele examining the support needs and quality of lives of older adults with a diagnosis of HIV. Genevieve is also a visiting lecturer for trainees on the Salomons Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme where she completed her own training.
