Izabel has been practising as a Counselling Psychologist within the NHS for over 5 years. She has vast experience of working with a wide range of psychological difficulties including work-related stress, agoraphobia, anger issues, bereavement, depression, emotional abuse, general anxiety, health anxiety, hoarding, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, perfectionism, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, self-criticism, self-harming, social anxiety, specific phobias, stress, trauma, trichotillomania and other difficulties, such as lack of assertiveness, lack of focus and motivation, sleep problems and difficulties in making decisions.

Izabel's style is based on the pluralistic, humanistic and relational approaches to therapy and counselling. She sees every person as a unique individual and tailors the treatment protocol to that individual's specific needs, while drawing on a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic theories and techniques. Izabel is heavily influenced by mindfulness and the significance of context in understanding human behaviour and promoting mental health. She places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for change. Izabel has a special interest in how people's early experiences and relationships affect their current relationships, feelings, thoughts and behaviours. Regardless of the style of therapy, Izabel focuses on helping her clients to identify the main problems causing their distress, in order to work through them, move towards change and acceptance, and achieve their goals in therapy.

Izabel is a very warm and empathetic practitioner and offers a supportive, trusting and non-judgmental space to help her clients feel safe to explore their difficulties. She is very passionate about what she does and dedicated to her work with each of her clients. Alongside her work at CPG, Izabel works at primary care IAPT services in the NHS as a counselling psychologist and CBT therapist. She has previous experience of working in secondary care services in the NHS, as well as the voluntary sector.
