Kim is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has six years' experience working in the NHS and, is a member of the BPS's Division of Counselling Psychology and its special group for Coaching Psychology Section.

Kim is also accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) having completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT at the Institute of Psychiatry, London. Kim has also completed extensive training in compassion focused therapy (CFT) which greatly influences her practice. Furthermore, Kim holds a certificate of competence from the BPS in Occupational Psychometric Testing Level A and B.

Prior to working as a Counselling Psychologist Kim trained and worked as an Occupational Psychologist concentrating mainly on stress reduction, creating an optimal work-life balance and psychometric testing in a number of organizations. In addition, Kim was as a part time lecturer in Organisational Psychology at the Greenwich School of Management for several years on their Bachelor of Business Administration course. She delivered teaching on stress management, communication skills, leadership, organisational culture and motivation. She has a special interest in workplace bullying and its effects on both organisations and individuals. Kim has also run groups in the private sector for step parents and has a special interest in this field.

Kim's clinical experience covers a range of settings including GPs surgeries, and both secondary and primary care settings. She is highly skilled at providing psychological therapy to individuals, couples and groups. She has also provided clinical supervision to trainee psychologists and CBT therapists, qualified CBT therapists and psychological well-being practitioners. She has run therapeutic groups for anxiety, depression, compassion focused therapy with a focus on the inner critic and mindfulness.

Kim is proficient in several therapeutic models, including cognitive and behavioural interventions (CBT), client-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy for couples and draws on additional skills such as the use of mindfulness and compassion focused therapy. Her areas of specialist interest include the spectrum of anxiety disorders (OCD, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, health anxiety and PTSD), depression, stress, work-related stress, workplace bullying, low self-esteem, lack of assertiveness, perfectionism, childhood trauma and adults who experience interpersonal difficulties in relationships.

Kim is a passionate, experienced and skilled clinician, supervisor and teacher. She approaches therapy from a collaborative standpoint and offers a warm, trusting and non- judgmental space to allow clients to explore their difficulties. She believes that successful results in therapy are highly dependent on forming a strong therapeutic alliance, her aim is to help others to feel more comfortable in their own skin at the end of treatment.
