Helena is a fully registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist and a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS). Helena trained as a Health Psychologist in Spain and expanded her interest towards Contextual Behavioural Sciences and Third Generation Therapies. She holds a Master's in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which has given her a high-level of knowledge and expertise in both the theory and practice of evidence-based and specialised psychological therapies.

Over a number of years, Helena has had a diverse range of professional experiences in providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to clients across a full range of care settings, including community and secondary care and the private sector. She has combined her work in private practice and entrepreneurship with her work within addiction-recovery secondary care services. Helena is also a lecturer who provides training and supervision as an Undergraduate and Postgraduate University Associate Professor on the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and the Masters Degree in Health and Counselling Psychology at San Antonio University, Murcia. She also writes and reflects about therapy related issues and the therapeutic relationship in blogs and has developed a range of practical resources for therapists, particularly in helping therapists to develop ways of taking better care of themselves.

Helena's extensive clinical experience has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of a broad set of clinical conditions and daily life issues associated with mental health in different contexts. She has experience in the psychological assessment and treatment of clients of all ages, presenting with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature, including substance misuse, personality disorders, dual diagnoses, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, pain management, and work-related stress, amongst other issues.

Helena has excellent clinical skills, a dedication and commitment to helping her clients and strong values that guide her through her work as a Practitioner Psychologist. Values such as respect, support, kindness and curiosity constitute her guiding principles in her therapeutic work. She strongly believes in the development of approaches that may have a positive influence on people's lives.
