"In my early years of qualifying, I used to ask myself: how can I treat, change or cure this person? These days I phrase this question as: how can I provide a secure relationship which this person may use for their own personal growth and wellbeing? I believe the therapeutic relationship can be the most powerful tool for helping a person change and to develop self-belief and hope where hopelessness was once the daily struggle"
