"Therapy is not about fixing a person - it is about walking alongside them as they rediscover strength, reclaim identity, and find meaning amid complexity. I believe that cultural sensitivity, compassion, and authenticity form the bedrock of any healing journey"

I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience across NHS, forensic, and third-sector services. I work with children, adolescents, adults and families, providing therapy for a range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental challenges (autism and ADHD), and identity-related distress. I specialise in culturally responsive care and have worked extensively with refugee and asylum-seeking populations. I bring warmth, humility, and curiosity to the therapeutic relationship, tailoring my approach to the unique needs and cultural narratives of each client.

Maryam is trained in multiple evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, CFT, TF-CBT, NET, and systemic approaches. She has delivered therapy in both in-person and remote formats and is experienced in interpreter-mediated care. Maryam has worked in high-secure forensic hospitals, CAMHS, refugee trauma services, and paediatric settings, treating complex trauma, PTSD, and chronic emotional distress.

Her doctoral research focused on the lived experiences of BME individuals in secure settings, informing her culturally attuned clinical practice.

Maryam has worked across diverse areas of mental health, including high-secure forensic care, child health, and refugee trauma services. She previously held roles in IAPT and third-sector mental health support. In each role, she has delivered high-volume, impactful interventions while contributing to research, supervision, and service development. Maryam has a particular interest in working systemically with underserved communities and continues to contribute to academic and clinical conversations on inclusion and innovation in psychological care.
